Review Methodology

Our years of experience reviewing all kinds of headsets have led us to the conclusion that you can never judge one by its looks. The SC660 looks sleek, well-designed, and with barely any flaws. The headband is very sturdy while the ear pads look durable and comfortable. The microphone moves smoothly and an audible click can be heard when it's in place. We have tried wireless headsets before and know their limitations but the Sennheiser SC660 offers comfort, durability, and all-around style despite its limitations.

Sennheiser SC660 Overview

The Sennheiser SC660 is a lightweight, wired headset specially designed for Skype for Business calls. The headset is thin but strong, adjustable, and comfortable. The large headphones are made from very strong and durable materials; the headset is made of strong plastic, brushed aluminum, and stainless steel hinges.

This headset comes with an in-line call control system, a set of buttons that controls the volume, mute, answer or hang up and redial. The noise-canceling microphone can be easily moved out of the way when not in use.

The SC660 is a USB headset and connects to your laptop or PC USB port. Once connected, you will need to install a driver before use. It will only take a few minutes and afterward, you may now use the SC660 for calls or to listen to videos, podcasts, and music.

Use the control system to adjust the volume, answer calls, and mute the microphone. You may also use the volume control on your PC or laptop to control the headphone volume.

There are many in-line, wired headsets in the market but the Seinheiser SC660 excels in design and weight. It weighs barely 8 ounces and thus, it is one of the lightest headsets. It is made from premium-quality materials so it’s more durable and will last many uses.

The SC660 also excels in sound quality, offering high definition sound coming from its well-designed speakers. You’ll get clear audio, minus any noise and interference plus, the controls are easy to access. All these make this wired headset a good investment for office or home office use.

Sennheiser SC660 Features and Rate Performance

The Sennheiser SC660 is a sleeker and lighter USB wired headset compared to its predecessors the Sennheiser SC 165 and the PC 8. The two lack the in-line control unit which makes it easier to control this headset for calls and entertainment. The SC 165 is a binaural headset that also has noise-canceling features while the PC 8 is a basic USB stereo headset that's compatible with Windows and MAC computers.

Ease of Use – 4.8 out of 5

The Sennheiser SC660 is an efficient, easy-to-use wired headset because of the in-line control system. The headset is adjustable and the microphone may be moved out of the way when not in use. As much as we would like to give it a perfect score, we had to deduct some points because this headset requires a driver for installation. It is not a plug-and-play device. But once you're done with the installation, everything was smooth sailing even if you disconnect the headset from the laptop or you power off your PC or laptop.

Design – 4.5 out of 5

This headset is adjustable, lightweight, and looks durable. However, there are still parts made of plastic that may not last that long like the microphone. The in-line control unit is well-designed with clickable buttons that also light up when in use. You don't need to check your PC or laptop if you're on a call or in mute. All you need is to glance at the in-line control unit.

Features – 4.5 out of 5

The SC660 has noise-canceling features so you can use this even in a noisy room like a call center wing or in a busy office. It has Voice Clarity, a feature unique to Sennheiser which keeps sounds clear no matter what you're listening to. The earpads are made from very strong and comfortable leatherette.

This Sennheiser headset also has ActiveGuard which protects you from sudden audio bursts. Finally, you’ll get great high definition sound which makes this perfect for gaming, watching movies, listening to podcasts and videos.

Value for Money – 4.8 out of 5

The Sennheiser SC660 offers great value for your money. It is made from good quality materials, has impressive features, and produces great sound. It also comes with a 2-year manufacturer's warranty which protects the unit's quality.
