Klipsch R-625FA vs R-26FA (Detailed)
The Klipsch R-625FA and R-26FA are both Dolby atmos speakers. So, it’s normal for people to get confused regarding which of the two would deliver the type of result that suits their context.
That’s why I whipped up this section. We’ll break down the Klipsch r-625fa vs. r-26fa difference to simplify your buying decision. Below are some of the significant differences.
Shape/ Design
Both speakers were designed as floor-standing speakers. Generally, they’re both black, but they have designs with subtle differences. Both speakers have woofers and tweeters to deliver high-quality sounds while eliminating possible distortions.
However, both speakers branch out in different directions in their design with their finish and enclosure. For starters, the r-625fa deploys wood grain vinyl to protect the speaker.
Thankfully, the wood grain vinyl finish adds a final touch to the speaker, giving it the perfect luxury appearance. The r-26fa, on the other hand, deployed the polymer veneer.
Aside from the finish, the enclosure of both speakers is different. The r-26fa uses a Front-Firing Bass reflex while the r-625fa uses the Rear-firing bass reflex.
Generally, these two types of bass reflex technology boost the quality of bass and low-frequency sound produced by the speaker. They both have their advantages and disadvantages.
Because of its front-firing bass reflex, you’ll have to be careful when placing the r-26fa speaker. This bass reflex technology picks up the port resonance.
So, you might struggle a bit when placing it to reduce the resonance. But the rear-firing bass reflex encounters no issues with port resonance. Nevertheless, both speakers are great.
Sound Quality
Although both speakers have built-in woofers and tweeters to boost sound quality, they are designed for different contexts. Judging by the audio specification of both speakers, they deliver a high-quality audio experience in various capacities.
For starters, the r-625fa delivers higher frequency audio at the treble range than the r26fa speaker. You can tell by the 2000 hertz crossover frequency of the r625fa speaker.
Moreover, I realized that the sound quality from the Klipsch r-625fa Dolby atmos floor-standing speaker sounded crisper and more precise than the r26fa speaker.
Nevertheless, the r26fa Dolby atmos speaker sounded louder. Another thing I noticed about these two speakers is the quality of their performance depends on the location. Don’t get me wrong. They are generally great surround-sounding speakers.
But you’ll enjoy their worth better when you place them in the proper context. For instance, the r26fa is perfect for small spaces. That’s when you’ll only understand the quality of the speaker.
The r625fa, on the other hand, works at its peak in larger rooms. You’ll feel the impact of the surround, cinematic sound audio better.
Installation
Regarding the installation, there are not many differences between these two Dolby atmos speakers. They are both easy to install.
However, you might find it easier to set up the r625fa speaker because it allows you to work with dual binding ports, simplifying the setup process.
On the other hand, the r26fa speaker only has single binding ports. So you might not have that luxury with it. Nevertheless, you’ll find it easy to install.
Size
The r625fa Dolby atmos speaker has the 40″ x 9.4″ x 17.3″ dimension. On the flip side, the r26fa speaker has 39″ x 7.8″ x 16.25″. In essence, the r625fa is the taller speaker of the two, with a height of 17.3.”
Nevertheless, the height or dimension shouldn’t stop you from experiencing either of the speakers.

The woofers and tweeters generally boost the audio experience you’ll get.
- They are both built with MDF and have sleek designs. As a result of the MDF, both speakers are scratch-resistant.
- The connectivity of both speakers is another similarity between them. Although the r625fa speaker is a premium speaker, it is not enabled with a wireless connection. So, like the r26fa speaker, the r625fa speaker relies heavily on a wired connection.
- Although the r625fa speaker sounds better than the r26fa speaker, you can tell that they are both perfect-sounding speakers. Their woofers and tweeter boost the sound quality so you can hear minimal distortions.
- Both speakers deploy Injection Molded Graphite (IMG), which makes the woofers feel lightweight. They also ensure your speakers deliver high-quality sound when it comes to low sound.
