    Overview

Well, you know JBL. They have been one of the most trusted brands of speakers. Bluetooth speakers, party boxes, headphones – you name it, and JBL has it. Going back to the product, this giant speaker from JBL is sure to impress your guests as they walk in. JBL PartyBox 1000 is a good speaker to use for every occasion.

    Unboxing

I was so excited to open the box and see this simple, elegant speaker. All I can say was wow, it looks nice and portable, though it can also be slightly heavy (maybe for a petite girl). Just don’t mind the color because their performance is more important. I tested the speaker to check if the powerful performance that JBL has been claiming for this one is for real or just a hype. For me, that is not a hype. I love how it plays Shane Filan’s Beautiful in White, which is one of my favorites.

    Construction and Design

Crafted with black polypropylene, JBL PartyBox 1000 comes with an improved acoustic tone enclosure. Well, I liked the polypropylene because it’s durable and rugged. The speaker is less likely to get scratches, so it is safe to bring when you travel.

No matter what your favorite genre is, JBL PartyBox 1000 promises to deliver supreme power and sound quality. I also liked the 3-way design of the unit as it comes with dedicated speakers that reproduce low to high frequencies.

    Portability and Ease of Use

The handle is behind the cabinet. That’s a perfect spot for the handle, guaranteeing easy and convenient carrying. Likewise, this party speaker has a pair of wheels on the bottom, allowing you to haul it around.

The wheels are pretty useful because the speaker itself is quite heavy. The unit weighs 34.7 kilograms, so carrying it would be troublesome without the wheels. Though it is not as handy as other portable Bluetooth speakers, its extraordinary capacity makes it a good speaker to use for bigger parties.

    Operation, Performance, and Audio Quality

JBL PartyBox 1000 is not battery-powered, so you have to take it close to the AC outlet. Sorry travelers, this is not good to use for camping, hunting, swimming pool parties, or any other outdoor adventures. Well, I guess it is not a portable Bluetooth speaker that you can bring outdoors.

One may hesitate upon learning it’s not waterproof. You can’t put it closer to the swimming pool as it can’t endure even a minor splash of water. Well, one can get the problem solved in many ways.

This party speaker is better to use when throwing a birthday party for your son or when having an evening party in the backyard. I highly recommend JBL PartyBox 1000 for parties wherein the sound has to be much louder. It can be a good speaker to use for weddings, Christmas parties, and many more. If you hired a DJ for your party, I’m sure he will love to work with this party speaker, too.

It’s time to reveal what is underneath the hood. JBL PartyBox 1000 features a polymer diaphragm density driver, a pair of 7-inch midrange speakers, and a down-firing subwoofer that measures 12 inches. With those components, this party speaker effectively delivers the power of up to 1100 watts.

My sole concern is that JBL didn’t disclose the RMS power for this speaker. If it’s your first time hearing it, RMS is the consistent power a speaker can deliver. I think it’s around 700 watts or a bit more than that for this party speaker. If I’m right, that RMS is already great for a speaker of this size.

As for the frequency response, it is anywhere between 30Hz to 20kHz. That has been made possible by the down-firing subwoofer that is helping the unit to produce intense sounds. The mid-tones are sharp and clear. The top notes are clear and crisp.

To get the best out of its performance, you have to find the most ideal spot for JBL PartyBox 1000. This way, it can effectively produce and scatter the sound across the venue, letting everyone hear and enjoy the music.

    Extras

The control panel features the Bass Boost mode that expands the bass to make even the lowest tone audible. Just take note that the bass decreases as you amplify the volume to prevent system distortion that results in poor sound quality.

    Key Features

    JBL PartyBox 1000 features:

  • Full-panel light effects that add a touch of sophistication
  • The Air Gesture Wristband controls the sound effects and light show.
  • Put on the wristband to make specific gestures that the system will detect. Then, it will change the lighting patterns and play cool sound effects.
  • A DJ pad that lets you play instruments such as keyboard and piano.
  • 2 independent inputs – one for the microphone while the other for the guitar.
  • USB connector that supports FAT32 and FAT16 file systems and .wav, .wma, and .mp3 file formats
  • True Wireless Stereo and Bluetooth. You can pair the speaker to 3 Bluetooth devices at a maximum range of 125 feet.
  • You can also use this party speaker as a karaoke machine and enjoy sing-along hits. Likewise, you may connect it to your guitar or any other similar instruments and play along.

    Verdict

To summarize everything, I love JBL PartyBox 1000 not just by the way it looks but also by the way it produces all the low and high notes. Although the device is quite heavy, it has wheels that make shifting places possible. For me, it is one of the best giant Bluetooth speakers so far.
